The Dream Starts
The dream starts at Malé Airport, where you are personally greeted by your host and conducted to your private luxury speedboat. On the scenic 35-minute journey you are kept supplied with cold towels and coconut water, and as you land, the waiting staff welcome you with a refreshing mocktail. You are whisked by golf buggy to your villa, where check-in is carried out by your personal Thakuru (butler).
Spectacular Dining
Dining here is really something special, with five stunning venues each engaging in spectacular culinary exhibitionism. At the main restaurant Celsius, guests enjoy international cuisine in an interactive dining experience, on a sand-covered platform in the lagoon, while Fogliani's is a lovely outdoor venue providing traditional wood-fired pizzas under a canopy of palms, and Salt is the place to go for inspired menus of exquisite gourmet seafood in an over-water setting, passing through the entrance framed by a fibre-optic-lit wall. The resort's really distinctive dining secret is Raw -- original and creative, inspired by the Spa, combining healthy choices with delicious flavours - and the pièce de résistance is Vinum, the unique under-water wine cellar, housing no fewer than 6,000 wines, and hosting a sumptuous dinner at its huge circular table twice a week.
One-off Features
There are plenty more one-off features -- the over-water Lime Spa that has two enchanting treatment rooms under water, with fish floating magically by; the infinity pool that extends over the shimmering lagoon, and sparkles by night with fibre-optic lights; and the dhoni, traditional on the outside and opulent on the inside, on which you can have a private cruise with a crew attending to your every need. And every evening at 6.30, you can gather by the water bungalows for manta feeding -- they will take the food right out of your hands.
