The Oriental Residence is well known in Bangkok for its ultra-chic restaurant, Café Claire, which with its black leather booth seating is styled like a French bistro, using a black and white colour mix with bright windows, brassy mirrored walls and fresh floral accents. The menus are an eclectic mix of French and Thai, including pan fried foie gras, blue river prawns in red curry sauce, and spicy pomelo (Thai grapefruit) salad with soft shell crab. Café Claire also lays on an afternoon tea and champagne set, with macaroons, French pastries, and TWG gourmet teas from Singapore.
Café Claire has recently been joined by Savelberg Thailand, where a renowned Michelin-starred Dutch chef creates French gourmet cuisine. In fact, Savelberg is the only Dutch chef to be awarded Michelin stars in all four of his own restaurants.
