Al Raha Beach Hotel
Located alongside the newly developed Al Raha Corniche, once a famous site for pearl diving, the stylish Al Raha Beach Hotel is indeed an exotic jewel among Abu Dhabi's selection of resorts. Boasting its own 900-metre golden-sand beach, and surrounded by lush parkland, the hotel is a tranquil oasis in the heart of the capital, offering luxurious and elegant facilities in an exceptionally convenient setting. Directly connected to the next-door Al Raha retail mall, and only 10 minutes from tourist destinations like the Yas Island Formula 1 circuit and the Ferrari Theme Park, the hotel provides guests with unlimited options for extraordinary travel experiences.
With its low-rise buildings scattered among luxuriant palm trees, and blending contemporary architecture with traditional Arabian design, the hotel is a pleasing contrast with surrounding steel and glass skyscrapers. Guests arrive in a vast lobby with ceiling panels of gold and colourful patterned glass, tiled floor with bright intricate patterns, and elaborate wood panelling on the walls and the large reception desk beside a huge palm tree. The decor throughout the hotel uses a warm colour palette of rich maroon, orange, red and gold, with plush carpets in vibrant colours, and elegant modern touches such as iridescent water and light installations in the corridors.
As well as two beautiful outdoor pools, surrounded by landscaped gardens, the hotel has a children's pool and two indoor pools. The indoor Aquamedic Pool, in particular, features a Jacuzzi, waterfall and fountains, and is a welcome refuge from the blazing outdoor sun. The centrepiece of the hotel is the Grand Ballroom, which can accommodate up to 700 guests.
The hotel's restaurants are popular throughout the city, and include the ultra-stylish Sevilla, with its contemporary crescent-shaped design, creating innovative and inspiring world cuisines from an open kitchen dominated by a central skylight. The exquisite Azur specialises in Mediterranean cuisine, to be enjoyed in artistic surroundings in the open air beside the pool, while Black Pearl, with its astonishing translucent "under-lit optic" glass bar, serves light meals with an international flavour, as well as relaxing pre-dinner and after-dinner drinks. Enigma, as well as being the UAE's largest and most sophisticated night club, is one of the city's most popular event venues.
