Secrets Royal Beach Punta Cana

Situated on a picture-perfect palm-studded, white-sand beach, the Secrets Royal Beach Punta Cana is the answer to any couple's dream of a luxury escape. Inspired by the natural beauty of its tropical surroundings, this adults-only resort boasts an abundance of high-end amenities and elite services, to be enjoyed while relaxing in beautiful contemporary all-suite accommodation. The focus is on providing a carefree and laid-back atmosphere, combined with enough activities to ensure a perfect balance between tranquillity and fun. On arriving in the glamorous lobby, with its suspended fish sculptures giving it the air of a modern art gallery, guests are welcomed with a cold towel and a glass of champagne. The resort is built in a series of three-storey buildings arranged in a U-shape, which ensures a short walking distance between guest-rooms and resort facilities. The buildings are separated by lush gardens, and by a meandering river-like pool that snakes through the grounds, ending in the vast main pool with a swim-up bar, as well as ponds with a wealth of wild life.

Just Relax

Alongside the meandering pools, there are loungers placed in shady nooks and crannies, providing plenty of quiet spots to enjoy peace and tranquillity. On the beach there plenty more loungers, many under palapas with thatched roofs. For an extra payment, you can book a two-tier Balinese bed, along with butler service and special snacks.

Culinary Delights

The resort has several restaurants of its own, and guests are also free to use the restaurants at the sister resort Now Larimer next door, under the all-inclusive package. The main buffet, the beautifully designed La Riviera, serves an international menu with some very creative presentations. Some evenings the buffet may be all-Dominican, including the national dish Sancocho stew, a delicious blend of chicken, beef and pork. Elsewhere, a particular highlight is the fine-dining Oceana Restaurant, where you can enjoy gourmet seafood dishes against a backdrop of stunning ocean views. The sushi bar Gohan, featuring open teppenyaki-style kitchens, offers Japanese specialities, while at the open-air Seaside Grill you can savour steaks and grilled dishes while overlooking the gardens and beach. For a special treat you can book a private Wine Cellar dinner, where the chef serves up a selection of his most creative dishes, accompanied by a range of exquisite wines.

Plenty to Do

There are plenty of places to curl up with a good book, but for those who are more actively inclined there is a wealth of activities on offer, with a water sports centre next to the pool, plus tennis courts and a fitness centre, as well as kayaking, snorkelling and surfing equipment free to use on the beach. You can take classes in dance and Zumba, mixing drinks, and even in making cigars. When night falls, there is some excellent evening entertainment, with different performances every night - it could be a circus, an A Capella singing group, or a native dance and fire show.
