Four Seasons Resort At Anahita

With thatched pavilions set against the lush green Bambou mountains, a shimmering sapphire-blue lagoon, and soft white sands, this secluded hideaway is a true Mauritian gem. The Four Seasons Resort at Anahita features outstanding facilities with a focus on pure indulgence, and seems to redefine the concept of a paradise island retreat. The Four Seasons brand has a reputation that inevitably raises high expectations, but this incomparably beautiful resort effortlessly surpasses them all.

The Anahita Wilderness Sanctuary stretches for six kilometres along Mauritius' east coast, and the resort occupies one of its most stunning settings, on a vast lagoon surrounded by coral reefs. The main part of the resort is situated on the mainland, and connected by a bridge to the 11-acre private island, which features no fewer than three superb beaches, and is ringed by coral reefs. Intertwining pathways weave through the luxuriant tropical gardens, mangroves and flowing Fountain Grass, offering guests boundless space to take in the natural beauty.

The resort is reached via a long drive through the gardens, which are flanked by the acclaimed Ernie Els-designed golf course. The main lobby, with its black marble floor and vaulted roof, is highly impressive, especially at night when lit by concealed lighting within the walls. Throughout the public areas there are open-sided thatched-roof pavilions on slate podiums, walls of water, and abundant artworks and modern sculptures.

An enticing variety of dining options can be found at the Four Seasons. The Italian Restaurant Acquapazza, in a stunning open-air setting overlooking the lagoon, prepares amazing wood-fire pizzas and delectable fish dishes, while the fine-dining restaurant Beau Champ, overlooking the curve of the bridge across the lagoon, takes a contemporary approach to southern French cuisine, and provides outdoor pavilions for private dining. Bambou, a pool-side restaurant on the island, focuses on Mauritian and pan-Asian fare, and has exciting weekly theme nights, including a Zilwa night and an African night.
