With its spectacular architecture, and its design inspired by the shape of a huge breaking wave, the Jumeirah Beach Hotel is a stand-out Dubai landmark. It occupies a prime position on Jumeirah Beach, with breathtaking views across the Arabian Gulf, and only minutes away from all the attractions of Medinat Jumeirah. As well as being famed for its iconic appearance, it does hold an unquestioned status as one of Dubai's top family hotels.
It is not just the outside of the hotel that is spectacular -- it is equally stunning on the inside as well. Its vast atrium-style lobby lounge, newly refurbished, is themed on the four elements -- earth, air, fire and water -- a theme which is the inspiration for the interior of the entire hotel. The seating area of the lounge is divided by soaring pillars into three zones, with fire at the heart, and earth and water on either side. For the air element, the atrium is totally surrounded by full-length windows, providing an open and luminous aspect.
The lobby lounge is the place where guests can enjoy the hotel's renowned afternoon tea, which is presented on a stand shaped like a bird cage, and includes five courses, plus freshly-brewed jing tea. But this is far from being the limit of the hotel's gastronomic delights -- there are at least 19 restaurants, bars and cafes for guests to choose from. These provide the full range of food options, from casual family meals or romantic fine dining to cool sophisticated bars and night-life venues.
Among these venues, in fact, is one of Dubai's most popular hotspots, 360o, right at the end of the Marine walkway. At night it provides late evening house music in an infectious party atmosphere, hosting some of Dubai's most acclaimed DJs. It is also a place for romantic dining, serving highly-praised pan-Asian cuisine, and has recently introduced the Thursday and Friday Must-Sea Open-air Brunches.
Other well-known restaurants include The Beachcombers and The Latitude, both open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and both offering international cuisine served from live cooking stations. La Veranda offers casual beach-side dining and drinking, while The Waterfront provides healthy choices throughout the day. For Mediterranean cuisine there is the Villa Beach for fine dining, the atmospheric Italian restaurant Carnevale for authentic Italian food, or Jamie's Italian, part of the celebrity chef Jamie Oliver's relaxed Italian chain.
The hotel provides options for pampering and fitness too. The Talise Spa offers a full range of treatments, including massage and aromatherapy, massage and steam rooms. Talise Fitness is set up with all the latest training equipment, including Technogym, and has the most innovative outdoor training zone in the Middle East.
