Beaches Negril Resort & Spa

A tropical paradise is there to discover at the casually elegant Beaches Negril Resort & Spa, set on the widest stretch of the famed Seven Mile Beach, and backed by luxuriant landscaped gardens. Specifically designed with families in mind, the resort offers a perfect escape for all ages, with an exceptional range of amenities for children, adults and those in between. However you define pure Caribbean magic, you will find it here.

The resort is built in an open, airy plantation style, its classic island architecture blending fine hardwoods and burnished marble with hand-painted domed frescoes, and stone arches with intricate detailing. The open-air lobby is supremely spacious, full of fresh ocean breezes and vibrant colours. Although the resort is eminently child-friendly, there are still plenty of quiet sitting areas amidst the lush tropical landscaping, and the abundant foliage creates a sense of intimacy and seclusion.

For the young, the central feature of the resort is the 18,000-square-foot Pirates Island Water Park, with long winding water slides, water cannons, splash deck and lazy river, and in addition there are two huge pools and a smaller one for young children, plus three whirlpools. Older ones can explore the beauty of the Jamaican waters with kayaking, windsurfing, banana boat rides,or hourly snorkelling trips in a glass-bottomed boat, and there are scuba diving programmes for children as well as adults. For those who prefer to stay on dry land, there are plenty of land activities including croquet, basket ball and volleyball.

With eight world-class restaurants, each offering its own unique ambience, there is no shortage of dining options - the restaurants range from casual to refined, but all welcome children. At the teppanyaki restaurant Kimono's, the chef performs song-and-dance routines and magic tricks while cooking up your feast in front of you on the griddle, making this restaurant a particular favourite with children, while at the newest restaurant Stewfish, you can be serenaded with guitars while enjoying sea-food delicacies on the beach. The beautiful Venetian Restaurant, with its old world decor, crystal chandeliers and exquisite candelabras evoking the aura of the palaces of old Venice, is the fanciest restaurant, but is still family friendly. Parents can enjoy candle-lit dinners in beach-front gazebos, and the hotel hosts weekly beach parties featuring Caribbean cuisine, along with a wide variety of live entertainment.
