Renowned as an outstanding family resort that provides an unbeatable range of facilities, the Grand Mirage Resort & Thalasso is perfectly situated right on a golden powder-sand beach bordering the Indian Ocean. The resort prides itself on being genuinely all-inclusive, covering activities, entertainment, sport, food and even airport transfers, and offering a wider range of leisure activities than any other resort in Bali. Located off the beaten track, away from the backpacker crowd, the Grand Mirage effortlessly combines modern amenities with a classical Balinese ambience, to provide a serene escape in the Island of the Gods.
The resort is built following the principles of Balinese architecture and design, with huge open spaces to allow guests to breathe and feel the breezes. In the heart of the building is a giant atrium, dominated by a huge statue of Rama and Sita from Hindu mythology, and two long wings extending from the atrium contain the 301 guestrooms. Walking past the Grand Café you reach the beautiful grounds, full of statues, winding pathways, and amazing flora, with the pool area in the centre, and sun loungers scattered around under the palm trees.
At the south side is the entrance to the renowned Thalasso Spa, featuring a unique aquamedic pool with heated seaweed and sea water, and jets that press several parts of the body at once for ultimate relaxation. There are 16 themed treatment rooms, such as the cinnamon room with real cinnamon sticks embedded in the walls, and the tranquil cave spa room, where you can enjoy an authentic affusion massage. French-trained therapists provide a range of Asian-inspired treatments that can be tailored to your exact requirements.
The Grand Mirage owns a private section of Tanjung Benoa beach, and at one end there is a glass wedding chapel where guests can celebrate their marriage. At the other end is a stone jetty next to the water sports centre. Among the exceptional range of activities is the new Sea Walker experience, where guests put on pumped and weighted helmets that enable them to stroll round a coral garden 50 metres below the surface.
The dining experience at the four gourmet restaurants is enhanced and enriched with plenty of cultural entertainment. The Jukung Grill, a charming beachfront restaurant, serves delicious seafood with the sound of the waves as backdrop, and just behind it is the Rama Stage theatrical area, where you can enjoy theatrical performances including Balinese dance troupes, kecak and legong dance shows and fire dances, with buffet meals served at one end. The Grand Café, overlooking the pool and the ocean, presents a refreshing all-day dining experience, while the award-winning La Cascata is open in the even for delicious and colourful Mediterranean cuisine. The resort also offers signature themed buffet dinners, which include traditional Balinese dance and music performances.
