Overlooking the majestic ocean front of Nusa Dua - the Garden of Bali - the St Regis Bali Resort skilfully combines the St Regis luxury brand with Balinese culture and style, and the result is a unique and beautiful resort. Its location, with a soft white sandy beach in front, lapped by the azure waters of the Indian Ocean, and the luxuriant verdant jungle behind, creates a destination of romance and mystique, in an atmosphere of tropical paradise. With its lush gardens, myriad pools and tranquil lagoon, it has more an air of a lavishly appointed private residence than a resort.
The special atmosphere becomes apparent from the moment guests arrive at the impressive entrance gate and pass along the colonnaded driveway to the vast marble lobby. Here Balinese musicians play softly in the corner all day, and lavish contemporary furnishings compete for your attention with authentic Balinese art. Instead of waiting at the reception desk, guests sit sipping iced tea, and reception staff come and welcome them.
The lobby leads past a black-sand pond, which glows in the evening with the light of 100 tiki torches, into the spacious tropical gardens that encompass the suites and villas. After sunset the salt-water lagoons are lighted, the beach lamps are turned on, and the sunset is celebrated by a fire dance show. All around the property there are Balinese art works and sculptures, and beautiful tropical flower arrangements.
The three distinctive restaurant venues claim to be the best in Bali, and offer a variety of alluring settings. The resort's signature restaurant, Kayuputi, on the beach front with stunning ocean views, specialises in Asian cuisine, while Dulang, meaning Royal Plate, is an enchanting gazebo set among tropical gardens, and promises a truly Indonesian culinary experience. At Boneka, guests can enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner in a colourful setting amidst a collection of traditional Indonesian puppets.
