Kempinski Seychelles Resort

Ranking among the Seychelles' most glamorous hotels, the Kempinski Seychelles Resort enjoys an enviable waterfront location on the up-market south-west coast of Mahé. Set against the verdant mountains of Mahé's Southern Range, and amidst the breathtaking beauty of huge granite rock formations and enchanting hidden coves, with a tranquil lagoon winding its way round its tropical gardens, the resort still manages to offer a wealth of truly indulgent experiences to match its sublime surroundings. With its laid-back beach-side luxury and its array of nature-based leisure activities, The Kempinski truly captures the spirit of the Seychelles.

The grounds of the resort are huge, covering a wilderness area as well as extensive tropical gardens full of coconut palms and beautiful flowers, and the resort is spread out, giving a feeling of privacy and space. The low-rise buildings, constructed with local materials, blend naturally into the landscape, with beautifully exposed stone and wood features. From the spacious pillared lobby, open to the elements, you can see the sea, and hear the birds singing and the waves breaking on the shore.

Among the outstanding facilities is an Olympic-sized swimming pool at the centre of the resort, bordered by luxuriant greenery and tiled in slate-grey to blend with the surroundings. Adjacent to the pool is an ultra-modern gym, offering cardio-vascular and power training, as well as a couple of tennis courts. Complimentary bikes are available, to enable guests to explore the island.

Further back, set against a majestic mountain backdrop, is the world-class Kempinski The Spa, managed by the resort's own joint venture company Resense. Opening to a dramatic rock formation of the type unique to the Seychelles, it features six private treatment rooms, built with beautiful dark timbers, and with huge windows looking out to the spa's own private areas of the rich tropical gardens. The treatments are inspired by the changing seasons, and harness the power of nature to heal and restore the equilibrium of the body.

As you would expect from such a resort, dining is a delight at the two superb restaurants. Café Lazare, named after the renowned French explorer Capitaine Lazare Picaut, is open all day for sumptuous breakfasts and lunches, while in the evening you can sample delights from around the globe at the varied themed buffet dinners, including Arabic, Asian, Italian and seafood specials. L'Indochine is a gourmet's paradise, offering guests the chance to experience authentic flavours from all around the Indian Ocean rim, with an in-house sommelier to help you choose exactly the right wine for your meal.
