Hilton Seychelles Northolme Resort And Spa

An exceptionally romantic and secluded retreat on the north coast of Mahé, the Hilton Seychelles Northolme Resort and Spa is the perfect place to relax in blissful tranquillity. Overlooking four enchanting coves from a rocky promontory, this exquisite boutique hotel commands incredible views of the sweeping Beau Vallon Bay, as well as the neighbouring Silhouette and North Islands. Originally built as one of the first hotels in the Seychelles before World War 1, it has been completely rebuilt, and has won the World Travel Award for the Indian Ocean Leading Villa Resort every year since 2007.

The hotel was built without cutting down a single tree, and has been specifically designed to harmonise with its natural surroundings. This has been so successful that if you were on a boat on the ocean, looking towards the island, you would not see the resort if you didn't know it was there. The grounds are abundant with coconut palms, mango trees and hibiscus, and are also home to one of only two rare Cannonball trees on the island -- so called because of their large brown ball-shaped fruits, and very large distinctive flowers.

The hotel offers some superb amenities, including a beautiful infinity free-form pool overlooking the ocean, with three levels of decking. The Crows Nest is an indoor recreation centre, with facilities including a library, pool table, darts and table tennis, as well as a huge flat-screen TV on which films are sometimes screened in the evening. The water sports facilities include complimentary kayak and pedal boat hire, and there is snorkelling directly from the beach, where there is an abundance of colourful fish.

The resort also features the lovely Duniye Spa, which is set on giant granite boulders at the tip of the headland, with spectacular views over the ocean. The spa offers a yoga pavilion, a relaxation lounge and a steam room, plus a full range of health, beauty and wellness therapies, including body wraps, massages, facials and scrubs. The healing techniques are all designed to blend with the tranquillity and serenity of life in the Seychelles.

There are three superb restaurants, including the open-air Hilltop Restaurant, which serves the famed Hilton champagne breakfast, and buffet meals for lunch and dinner from live show cooking stations with changing themes. The stunning à la carte Les Cocotiers Restaurant entices guests with fabulous Creole fusion food, enjoyed through the ultimate under the stars dining experience. The Ocean View Bar and Grill, with its split-level deck that is illuminated by flickering candles at night, is the perfect spot to relax with a cocktail at the end of the day, while taking in the glorious sunset.
