Named after the legendary Seychelles goddess Ephelia, renowned for her charm and grace, the Constance Ephelia Resort is set on two of Mahé's most idyllic beaches, and surrounded by breathtaking natural beauty. Stretching diagonally across the narrowest section of a small peninsula on Mahé's west coast, the resort only opened in 2010, but has already become one of the Seychelles' most sought-after retreats. The resort's slogan is "The world on its first morning", evoking the enchantment of the Garden of Eden, and this serves as the theme throughout the resort.
In the heart of the resort is a mangrove forest, containing rich and rare vegetation and wildlife, which is part of an important conservation project. On either side of the forest, the two stunning beaches are linked by a series of paths that wind through luxuriant, exotic gardens. One of the most intriguing features of the resort is the "Ephelia Trail", starting at the eastern end of the north beach by the Cyann Restaurant, and arriving at an extraordinary geological formation known as the "man-made steps", the source of many legends.
Each of the resort's five restaurants has its own distinctive concept, and its own individual design and decor reflecting the specific concept, but all also reflecting a subtle touch of African influence. Of the two restaurants located on the North Beach, the unique Cyann is the resort's haute cuisine dining venue, with an evening menu of stunning dishes inspired by a fusion of French, Asian and Seychellois food. Seselwa is a casual all-day outlet, where menus include freshly-grilled seafood and Creole specialities.
On the South Beach, Corossol is the resort's main buffet, and features live cooking stations where chefs keep you entertained while producing freshly-cooked creations from around the world, while Helios is a casual-chic restaurant, specialising in authentic Mediterranean dishes cooked in its huge wood-burning oven. For a really relaxed and cool atmosphere, try Adam and Eve, where the sand flooring and design is inspired by Africa and by the Seychelles granite rocks. Its speciality is the native breads baked on site, served with the resort's own special chutney.
