The Venetian

The romance of Italy is transported to the heart of Las Vegas in The Venetian, the best-known and most spectacular of all the Strip's spectacular resorts. Thought to be the biggest hotel in the world when combined with its sister hotel the Palazzo, this breathtaking mega-resort delivers on extravagant grandeur and opulence, as well as drawing the crowds for theatre and sheer spectacle. But it's not all about glitz and showmanship -- with ultra-luxurious suites and world-class amenities, every detail has been meticulously designed to give you an experience you won't forget.

Venice Theme

Out at the front, along the Strip, you encounter representations of famous Venice landmarks like the Campanile, the Rialto Bridge and St Mark's Square, and you enter the hotel through the Doge's Palace, set on a walkway over a wide lagoon. The ornate Baroque lobby, filled with the hotel's hallmark floral perfume, continues the Venice theme with its gold accents, and the exquisite detailed fresco covering the arched ceiling. Accordionists serenade you by the reception desk, and Renaissance characters roam the public areas, performing mime and singing operatic arias.

Through the midst of the hotel runs the Grand Canal, beneath an artificial blue sky, where you can take a gondola ride past the 80-plus Grand Canal Shoppes that line the canal, surrounded by cobbled walkways. Gondoliers sing to you as you ride, and strolling performers sing, play and mime to entertain the shoppers. The hotel's six pools, including the adults-only Tao Beach, are modelled on the fountains of Italian palazzos, and on the 10th floor is a pretty pool deck with two additional pools and several Jacuzzis, surrounded by fragrant rose bushes.

Celebrity Dining

In Restaurant Row there's a star-studded line-up of 18 restaurants from award-winning and celebrity chefs, who deliver an unrivalled choice of fine dining. Culinary giants include Tom Moloney of AquaKnox, the seafood restaurant where fresh catches are flown in daily, and Daniel Boulud who brings contemporary French cuisine to dbBrasserie. Delmonico Steakhouse, directed by renowned chef Emeril La Grasse, offers soul-stirring New Orleans-style dishes with the chef's signature bold flavours, and classic Southern cooking can be found at Yardbird Southern Table. And of course there is an array of exciting Italian restaurants, including Canaletto, and B&B Ristorante.
